naâman

The reggae world is in mourning. Martin Mussard, better known as Naâman, passed away on February 7, 2025, at the age of 34, taken by a brain tumor diagnosed in 2019. An immense loss for music, as his aura and talent illuminated the French and international reggae scene.

An Artist with a Big Heart, a Messenger of Peace

From his beginnings, Naâman established himself as a key figure in Francophone reggae. With his unique flow, contagious energy, and lyrics full of hope, he won over a loyal audience far beyond France’s borders. Inspired by the great voices of reggae and hip-hop, he crafted a unique universe, blending positive vibrations with genuine commitment.

His debut album Deep Rockers, Back a Yard (2013) was a real springboard, launching his name onto the international scene. Tracks like "House of Love" and "Pop Dem Bubble" resonated with a generation hungry for authentic sounds and inspiring messages. His love for Jamaica, where he found part of his musical essence, was evident in every note and every word.

A Career Marked by Unforgettable Tracks

Five albums, dozens of songs, and tours that made thousands of fans vibrate worldwide. Naâman never stopped exploring, renewing himself, and offering tracks imbued with spirituality and sharing. Beyond (2017), Temple Road (2022), and his final opus, Time is to Rebel, affirmed his status as a major artist.

Among his most iconic songs, Karma remains a true ode to gratitude and faith in the future. His last track, Mon Amour, now resonates as a musical testament, a final declaration to life, which he loved and celebrated until his last breath.

An Indelible Legacy

Beyond his music, Naâman was a luminous soul, filled with rare kindness. His battle against illness, fought with strength and humility, was a lesson in courage. He continued to create, share, and transmit, leaving behind unreleased recordings that will soon see the light of day.

His passing leaves an immense void, but his message of hope and resilience endures. Naâman’s music will continue to accompany those who find in it a source of inspiration and strength.

Thank you, Naâman, for the light you spread, which will continue to shine in our hearts. Rest in peace, the reggae star shines forever.
