Reggae Month 2025: A Month of Celebration for Jamaican Culture

Reggae Month: A Must-See Celebration

Since 2008, Jamaica has celebrated Reggae Month every February, a vibrant tribute to this music genre, which was inscribed in 2018 as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. This unique festival attracts thousands of fans from around the world to honor a rich and influential culture.

Why is February Reggae Month?

February holds special significance for Jamaica as it marks the birth of two reggae icons:

  • Dennis Brown, born on February 1, 1957, known as the "Crown Prince of Reggae."

  • Bob Marley, a global legend, born on February 6, 1945.

Reggae Month is a time to pay tribute to these legendary artists and highlight the cultural and social importance of reggae music.
